Tharrington Smith Attorneys Prevail in District Court

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals recently affirmed a lower court decision granting summary judgment to the Brunswick County Board of Education in a lawsuit alleging retaliation in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Lorene Williams claimed that the school board retaliated against her for requesting medical leave by transferring her from a senior administrative position in the central office to a school-based administrative post.

Kathleen Tanner Kennedy and Christine Scheef prevailed in District Court, and Trey Allen handled the successful appeal.
