Adam Mitchell’s practice is focused on education and election law. He graduated from Duke University in 1998. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mitchell taught third grade and served on the Board of Education in East Palo Alto, California. During his time in the classroom, he earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco.
He joined Tharrington Smith in 2007. In his education law practice, Mr. Mitchell assists school systems across North Carolina with a variety of legal issues. He regularly handles complex personnel matters and investigations, and advises clients on matters related to the open meetings, public records, policy revisions, special education, school construction, and other matters. Mr. Mitchell has assisted individuals and candidates in a variety of elections matters, including successful election protests and residency challenges. Mr. Mitchell lives with his wife and daughter in Raleigh.
