Raleigh, N.C., July 2, 2026 – Tharrington Smith is pleased to announce the promotion of Sharon Lin to Of Counsel, effective July 1, 2026.
Sharon is a member of the firm’s Education Law practice, where she advises and represents public school boards and educational institutions across North Carolina, regularly advising on procurement, contracting, and construction matters. She also practices local government law, serving as board attorney for several North Carolina municipalities. Since joining the firm, she has distinguished herself through her dedication to client service, thoughtful legal counsel, and a collaborative approach to helping clients navigate the complex legal issues facing public education.

Sharon earned bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Asian Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before receiving her Juris Doctor from the UNC School of Law in 2015. Throughout her career, she has been committed to helping clients navigate complex legal issues with practical, client-focused solutions.
As Of Counsel, Sharon will continue supporting North Carolina’s public education community by delivering strategic legal counsel and trusted guidance to the clients she serves.
