Education Lawyers support the NCSBA Law Conference

In conjunction with professors, NCSBA Legal Counsel, and legal counsel for school boards around the state, five Tharrington Smith attorneys participated in the North Carolina School Boards Association April Law Conference on April 16 and 17 in Raleigh.

School Board members and attorneys alike received continuing education for attending the conference, where attorneys from Tharrington Smith’s Education Section spoke on topics ranging from employee dismissals and demotions, challenging local board decisions, impartiality, employee grievances, discrimination, harassment and bullying, and student disciplinary hearings. Presenters from Tharrington Smith included Ken Soo, Carolyn Waller, Deborah Stagner, Benita Jones and Eva DuBuisson.
