Fred Morelock Guarantees NC Medical Board Hearings Follow the Law

Raleigh–The North Carolina Medical Board recently hired Tharrington Smith attorney and former Wake County District Judge Fred Morelock as its independent counsel.  In this role, which was created in the fall of 2009 by the General Assembly, Morelock will attend board hearings to help explain any legal issues or questions that arise with respect to evidence and civil procedure.

Morelock, who served on the Wake County District Court  bench for 14 years, is pleased to assist the board president in discerning different aspects of the law that pertain to the contested cases heard by the board.

An announcement of Morelock’s new position was described in the September 20th issue of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
