NC Bar Association's 4ALL Statewide Service Day Successful

The North Carolina Bar Association held its sixth annual “4ALL Statewide Service Day” recently on March 1 in eight locations across the state. Tharrington Smith’s own Family Law attorney Andrea Bosquez-Porter has led one of the call centers for two consecutive years as a part of this initiative. Located in the Cary call center, Bosquez-Porter and other volunteer attorneys field calls from the public, provide legal information and help connect callers with various resources at no charge. The Cary call center caters specifically to Spanish-speaking callers.

“This was the second year in a row that I’ve co-chaired the Cary call center for the 4ALL event. Our center is the only Spanish-speaking site, so we talked with people from all across North Carolina, and hopefully offered them useful guidance and resources,” says Andrea Bosqez-Porter, Family Law attorney at Tharrington Smith.

In its sixth year, the 4ALL Statewide Service Day was a great success with volunteer attorneys receiving 9,712 calls, breaking the previous record of 8,870. The program relies on volunteer service and the 2013 day featured 456 lawyers, paralegals, law students and other volunteers to field calls. These volunteers provided legal information and referral resources to the callers with North Carolina related matters.
