North Carolina Jury Acquits Man of Tax Evasion and Filing False Returns

A North Carolina jury took less than three hours to acquit a local businessman of filing false income tax returns and failing to remit Sales and Use taxes to the State of North Carolina. The Defendant had previously rejected a plea bargain calling for him to serve two years active imprisonment.

The Defendant was represented by Douglas E. Kingsbery of Tharrington Smith, L.L.P. in Raleigh, North Carolina.
