Russell D. Babb Named Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

Tharrington Smith LLP is pleased to announce that Russell D. Babb has been inducted into fellowship of the American Bar Foundation.

The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers to become members of The Fellows. They have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Established in 1955, The Fellows support the research of the American Bar Foundation. Membership in The Fellows is limited to less than one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.

The American Bar Foundation’s mission is to serve the legal profession, the public, and the academy through empirical research, publications, and programs that advance justice and the understanding of law and its impact on society. Created by the American Bar Association more than sixty years ago, and supported by annual grants from the American Bar Endowment, the ABF is an independent, non-profit organization that conducts large-scale research projects on the most pressing issues facing the legal system in the United States and the world. Research at the ABF is conducted by a residential research faculty and over 50 affiliated scholars from across the nation and the world.

Russell D. Babb is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar and top student-athlete. He graduated from the UNC School of Law in 1999.
