Tharrington Smith attorney Doug Kingsbery to speak at national ABA event

Tharrington Smith Criminal Tax attorney Doug Kingsbery will be featured as a 2012 speaker and expert panelist for the American Bar Association’s National Institute on Criminal Tax Fraud and Tax Controversy. This is his second year speaking in this capacity.

This annual event brings together high-level government representatives, judges, corporate counsel, and practitioners to discuss strategy, practice tips, and various other aspects of tax controversy, tax litigation, and criminal tax defense. The Institute enables the leading professionals in criminal tax defense to remain on the cutting edge of issues in the law and to exchange ideas for handling challenging criminal tax cases.

In 2011, Kingsbery served as a panelist in a roundtable discussion of his article “Dealing with ‘Expert’ and ‘Summary’ Witness Testimony in Federal Criminal Tax Prosecutions”.  Highlight sessions this year include an IRS CID Roundtable and a Department of Justice Criminal Tax Roundtable.  Kingsbery will also serve as a panelist in a session discussing restitution and other civil issues that are arising in criminal tax cases.  The event is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 5-7, 2012. For further information about having Mr. Kingsbery present to your group, please contact us.
