Tharrington Smith Lawyers Honored by North Carolina Super Lawyers™ 2019

The Raleigh law firm of Tharrington Smith LLP is pleased to announce that 13 of its lawyers have been named to 2019 North Carolina Super Lawyers™, and five have been named to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Rising Stars:

 

In selecting attorneys for Super Lawyers™, a rigorous, multiphase process is employed. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third-party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. Super Lawyers™ inducts only 5% of the attorneys in any given state.

Hill Allen has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ continuously since 2009. Mr. Allen focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation.

Lynn Burleson has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ continuously since 2006. Additionally, he was selected to the North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Top 100 list in 2006-2008. Mr. Burleson is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. He focuses his practice exclusively on matrimonial matters.

Melissa Hill is first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ in 2019. Ms. Hill focuses her practice in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation.

Evan Horwitz has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ since 2015. Mr. Horwitz is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and focuses his practice exclusively on matrimonial matters.

Douglas Kingsbery has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ continuously since 2008. Mr. Kingsbery focuses his practice primarily in the area of white collar criminal defense, with an emphasis on criminal tax defense.

Rod Malone is first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ in 2019. He is a partner in the Education Section and focuses his practice primarily in the area of school construction.

Steve Mansbery has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Rising Stars since 2015. He was previously selected to this list in 2010-2013. Mr. Mansbery is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and focuses his practice exclusively on matrimonial matters.

Jaye Meyer has been selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ since 2006. She has been selected to the North Carolina Top 50 Women Super Lawyers™ from 2010 to 2014 and again in 2017, and to the Top 100 Super Lawyers™ list in 2011. Ms. Meyer is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and focuses her practice exclusively on matrimonial matters.

Adam Mitchell is first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ in 2019, though he made several appearances on the Rising Stars list. He is a partner in the Education Section focusing on a variety of matters encountered by public school boards.

Fred Morelock was first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ in 2006 and continuously since 2008. Mr. Morelock is a Certified Family Financial Mediator and a Certified Superior Court Mediator. He focuses primarily in the areas of mediation and matrimonial law.

Stephen Rawson is first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Rising Stars this year. He is an associate in the Education Section focusing on a variety of matters encountered by public school boards.

Jeffrey Russell was first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Rising Stars in 2016. Mr. Russell is a member of the firm’s Family Law Section.

Colin Shive was first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Rising Stars in 2016 and is listed again in this category in 2019. He is an associate in the Education Section.

Roger Smith, Jr. was first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ main list in 2018. He is a partner in the firm focusing his practice in the area of Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation.

Wade Smith has been selected to Super Lawyers™ North Carolina since 2006. He has been included in the North Carolina Super Lawyers™ Top 100 List continuously since 2006, in the Top 10 List in 2006-2010, 2012-2014, and 2016, and to the Top 25 Raleigh Super Lawyers™ List from 2013-2018. In Super Lawyers Magazine 2016 cover story, he was titled “Our Own Atticus Finch”. Mr. Smith’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation.

Kenneth Soo is first selected to North Carolina Super Lawyers™ in 2019. He is a partner in the Education Section and focuses his practice on litigation matters encountered by public school boards.

Alice Stubbs has been listed in North Carolina Super Lawyers™ continuously since 2010 and celebrates her 10th anniversary of inclusion in 2019. She is included for the third consecutive year in the North Carolina Super Lawyers Top 50 Women list. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and a Certified Family Financial Mediator.
