Tharrington Smith Welcomes Maura O’Keefe to the Education Law Section

We are pleased to announce that Maura O’Keefe has become associated with the firm. She has joined the firm’s education law section.

Maura O’Keefe received her undergraduate degree in 2009 from the University of Virginia, where she was a recipient of the Jefferson Scholarship. After graduating, she taught high school English as a member of Teach for America’s Eastern North Carolina corps. In 2014, Maura received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During law school, Maura was a member of the Holderness Moot Court National Team and a certified student lawyer in the Juvenile Justice Clinic. Maura joined Tharrington Smith’s Education Section in mid-2016 following a two-year fellowship at the Office of University Counsel at UNC, where she focused on student and employment matters.
