Voluntary Disclosure Saves North Carolina Businessman

Special Agents of the North Carolina Criminal Investigation Division informed a North Carolina businessman today that they were dropping their investigation of allegations that he had failed to report substantial business income on his North Carolina tax returns. Agents cited the fact that the man’s attorney, Douglas E. Kingsbery of Tharrington Smith, L.L.P. in Raleigh, North Carolina, had previously arranged a voluntary disclosure of the suspected improprieties.

The businessman was represented by Douglas E. Kingsbery of Tharrington Smith, L.L.P. in Raleigh, North Carolina.
