IRS Criminal Investigation Division Drops Investigation of NC Business Owner

After a year-long investigation, Special Agents of the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS advised a North Carolina businessman today that they were dropping their criminal investigation of both his personal income and business tax returns for the years 2012-2015. The businessman, who operates an accounting and tax preparation business, was suspected of filing false business and individual income tax returns. The taxpayer was represented by Douglas E. Kingsbery of Tharrington Smith, L.L.P. in Raleigh, North Carolina.
