Tharrington Smith LLP is pleased to welcome four talented law students who are spending the summer with our firm. Throughout the summer, they will work alongside our attorneys across several practice areas. In addition, they will gain hands-on legal experience through legal research, court proceedings, client matters, and other aspects of the practice.

Anna Blake Glatthaar
Anna Blake Glatthaar is a Raleigh native and a rising third-year student at Campbell Law School, where she attends on a Dean’s Excellence Scholarship.
She was drawn to Tharrington Smith because of the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on litigation experience while working directly with attorneys and clients. Throughout the summer, Anna Blake has enjoyed observing different stages of litigation. Furthermore, she is learning through the mentorship of Family Law attorneys Alice Stubbs and Evan Horwitz.
Outside of law school, Anna Blake enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and taking her Boykin Spaniel, Boo, swimming.
Lindy Gupton
Lindy Gupton is a rising third-year student at Wake Forest University School of Law and a graduate of North Carolina State University. A Raleigh native, Lindy developed an interest in education law after growing up in a family of educators. She wanted the opportunity to explore a practice area that aligned with those lifelong interests.
This summer, Lindy has enjoyed working on active litigation matters, researching unique legal issues, and seeing cases develop from multiple perspectives. She especially appreciates the opportunity to work alongside the attorneys, associates, and paralegals in our Education Law practice. In addition, she is continuing to strengthen her legal research and advocacy skills.
When she’s away from school, Lindy enjoys spending weekends with family and friends at Oak Island, searching for seashells and shark teeth along the beach.
Grace Whittemore
Grace Whittemore is a rising third-year student at Campbell Law School, where she serves as Editor in Chief of the Campbell Law Review and a Civil Procedure Teaching Scholar.
As the daughter of a public-school teacher, Grace developed an early interest in education that grew into a passion for education law and policy. She joined Tharrington Smith to learn from experienced education attorneys and gain firsthand exposure to the practice. This summer, she has enjoyed conducting legal research, observing mediations and hearings, and gaining a deeper understanding of how education law serves schools and communities across North Carolina.
Originally from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Grace enjoys reading, baking, following UNC athletics, and spending time with family and friends.
Madison Walker
Madison Walker is a rising second-year student at Campbell Law School and a graduate of North Carolina State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Justice.
Drawn to Tharrington Smith by the firm’s welcoming culture, collaborative environment, and Criminal Defense practice, Madison has especially enjoyed spending time in the courtroom this summer, seeing how legal strategy unfolds in real cases and applying what she’s learned in the classroom. She is grateful for the opportunity to learn from attorneys and team members who have generously shared their time, mentorship, and experience.
Outside of law school, Madison enjoys creative hobbies including needlepoint, crocheting, painting, and making handmade gifts for friends. She also loves spending time outdoors with her two-year-old golden retriever, Cullman, especially taking him swimming at nearby lakes and ponds.
Investing in the Next Generation
At Tharrington Smith, we believe investing in the next generation of legal professionals is an important part of strengthening our profession. Providing law students with meaningful, hands-on experience allows them to build practical skills and learn from experienced attorneys. They also gain insight into the practice of law beyond the classroom.
We are grateful to have Anna Blake, Lindy, Grace, and Madison with us this summer. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to learn have already made them valued members of our team, and we appreciate the unique perspectives they bring each day.
As they continue their legal education, we look forward to seeing their growth throughout law school and beyond. We wish each of them continued success and are excited to see the positive impact they will make in the legal profession.
