Jury Trial of Business Manager Accused in Employee Withholding Tax Scheme Ends with Dismissal of all Felony Charges

The jury trial of a Business Manager accused in an employee withholding tax scheme ended abruptly on the fourth day of trial after the judge granted a defense motion to dismiss most of the case. After the court announced its ruling, the Prosecutor agreed to dismiss the remaining felony charges in exchange for the Business Manager’s acceptance of a misdemeanor. Jurors later informed the Prosecutor that they were going to acquit the Business Manager. The Business Manager was represented by Douglas E. Kingsbery of Tharrington Smith, LLP.
