Fisher-Gabbard received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During this time, she served as a member of the Pro Bono Board, president of the Education Law and Policy Society, and Comments Editor for the North Carolina Law Review. Professionally, Fisher-Gabbard has worked as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lucy N. Inman at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Before attending law school, she was a program assistant for Communities in Schools Charlotte-Mecklenburg and a volunteer custody advocate for the Council for Children’s Rights.
“My own public schooling and professional experiences sparked my passion for education law,” Fisher-Gabbard says. “I am thrilled to begin my practice representing our state’s public schools alongside the dedicated team of attorneys at Tharrington Smith.”
Since 1978, the education law section of Tharrington Smith, LLP has represented school boards, administrators and a great number of other clients, large and small. The firm welcomes attorney Rebecca Fisher-Gabbard to their education practice, and they are eager to continue their work of supporting North Carolina public schools.
